Paul Greenwood
Most of us have already bought a piece of Paul Greenwood’s art without even knowing it. Paul was the best selling artist for the world’s largest greeting card company for many years.
Part of what makes Paul’s talent such a triumph, are the circumstances in which it was nurtured. He grew up in an environment in which there was no interest in art, or inspiration towards it. Yet a small light of desire burned inside, and from a tender age Paul taught himself to draw, relentlessly endeavouring to learn and improve upon his technique. By his early teens, Paul had the choice to join his peers around him and concentrate on surviving street life, or to paint. He chose the latter as the desire to fulfil his raw ability could not be denied.
At 17, Paul approached a card company with a plastic bag full of treasures. He was snapped up immediately, and then brought to Bath by local entrepreneur Andrew Brownsword, who gave him the opportunity to paint pictures that present the fine things in life with a cheeky twist of humour and intriguing perspective, bringing amusement to thousands of people the world over.
